BBC Wales Interviews Tidal Electric Founder Peter Ullman

TE Chairman Peter Ullman was interviewed on "Good Evening, Wales" on BBC Wales on January 26, 2004, in conjunction with the launch of the Friends of the Earth Briefing Paper, which compared tidal lagoons favourably to the proposed Severn Barrage. The Severn Barrage was originally proposed in the 1970's, studied for 13 years at a cost of 65 million (GBP), dismissed as impractical, and regarded as a white elephant. Recent developments in the renewable energy field have prompted die-hard barrage proponents to take another look in the light of new conditions in the energy market. Friends of the Earth's briefing strongly opposes the barrage as impractical, unnecessary, and environmentally problematic.
